Article by Tommy Wathen: A-level results are finally out and students are learning whether they have got the required grades for their chosen university course.

Some students will be heading to their school, sixth form or college and opening an envelope realising that their hard work over the summer has been worth it, while others won't be as happy.

Brentwood schools include Brentwood County High School, St Martins, Shenfield High School and Brentwood School - as well as Brentwood Ursuline Convent High School, Trinity School in Kelvedon Hatch and Grove House School.

The Billericay School and Mayflower High School will both welcome their students back through the doors on Thursday to receive their results in Billericay, while Beauchamps High School and The Bromfords School and Sixth Form Centre in Wickford will also be open.

We have compiled tables to show the percentage each school got for A* grades to B grades and also a wider A* to E grade.

Here is the table of A-level results in Billericay:

School name % of A* - B  % of A* - E
Mayflower High School 52% 99.3%
The Billericay School 46% 76% (A8 - C)
