Billericay Tennis Club is throwing open its courts to former British and Davis Cup Players, Danny Sapsford and Luke Milligan and inviting anyone who wants to enjoy a day of coaching by stars of the game on 16th February.
The day is part of a national scheme called The Tennis Circus, a roadshow of tennis staffed by the best coaches and players in the country who travel the country encouraging grass roots tennis and boosting membership of local clubs.
Danny Sapsford, who leads The Tennis Circus, played on the ATP tour reaching a career high of 170. He represented Great Britain in the Davis Cup from 1990-1995 and has completed in all four grand slams. In 1998 he became the Men’s Singles National Champion.
Meanwhile, Luke Milligan reached his highest individual ranking on the ATP Tour in 1996, when he became the world number 217 after reaching the third round of Wimbledon. He also represented Great Britain in the Davis cup in 1996. As a coach, Luke has worked with several top British players including Laura Robson, Arvind Parmar and Anne Keothavong.
Danny and Luke will be coaching and paying at Billericay on 16th February, hosting coaching clinics for that provide a mix of doubles tactics, singles skills and engaging tennis games for kids.
For those brave enough, participants can also feel what it’s like to receive the full power of a professional serve! Danny and Luke will finish the day playing a highly entertaining exhibition match incorporating sublime tennis and outrageous trick shots.
The day is open to anyone at any level of tennis.
