Joseph Williams, of Billericay, is embarking on a physical and mental mission in aid of local Essex based charity St Luke's Hospice (charity reg no. 289466).
The charity specialise in the care and support of the terminally ill and their families. Several years ago Joseph lost his mother to a terminal illness but it was always reassuring to know that she was receiving such brilliant care from this dedicated charity.
After recovering from an illness himself that left him, initially, immobile earlier this year, Joseph has found a new appreciation for life and the good he can do and has set up a group named JWPhilanthropy which is dedicated to raising money for underfunded charities via psychical events. Some of the events Joseph is taking part in over the next year include 4 marathons and a climb to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.
On Friday 2nd September, Joseph is hosting a charity benefit in aid of St Luke’s Hospice, in memory of his mother, at Stock Brook Manor. The evening has received sponsorship from Magic FM, Toni and Guy and The Times to name but a few and consists of a drinks reception, three course fine dining experience, live entertainment and grand raffle.
In troubles times, as we have seen recently, “Support your community and those who try to make it a better place”, is the theme of the event.
