Lake Meadows Skate Park

New skate park facilities in Lake Meadows park are set to be officially opened this weekend.

Skateboarders and BMX riders are able to enjoy the new facilities following the completion of work which saw the ten year old ramps replaced and the area given a revamp.

Costing around £30,000 the work has seen Billericay Youth Town Council and the Town Council consulting with young skaters to create extra and more complex pieces.

I would like to congratulate the Billericay Youth Council for the hard work they have put in to the project.

I think the skate park is great and much better than the old one. Me and my mates don't now have to travel miles to other parks to ride. The new park doesn't wear you out so much, as it is so well built and it has brought together all age groups and all types of riders making it a better community feel.
The official opening of the new site takes place on Saturday 23 July starting at 11.30am and will see demonstrations and competitions taking place throughout the day.
