The free to attend Play Rangers scheme run by Basildon Council returns to a park near you this Half Term.
The scheme which is open to children between the ages of 5 and 12 proved a huge success in 2010, with over 1600 children taking part in just 3 months.
And following the success of its Easter programme looks all set be even more popular in 2011.
The play ranger’s scheme enables children to engage and interact with each other, learn social skills and have fun with various activities. We saw a huge rise in the number of children taking part last year, but we want to build on this and we hope any families with young children who haven’t heard about Play Rangers get in touch and give it a go.
The outdoor sessions run in parks across the Borough are supervised by experienced play workers who will encourage children to enjoy free play using outdoor equipment, explore their surroundings and get to know their local park.
The Play Rangers Half Term sessions are free of charge and will run from the 28 May – 5 June from 11am – 3pm. Sessions are available at Wat Tyler Country Park, Northlands Park, Gloucester Park, Lake Meadows and Wickford Memorial Park.
