A man has been left with serious head and facial injuries after being assaulted by two men in Billericay in what is believed to be an unprovoked attack.

He was attacked in the early hours of Sunday morning before being found by a member of the public at the junction of Southend Road and Coxes Farm Road at just after 12.30am.

It is thought that two men got out of a silver Ford Fiesta, attacked the victim, who is 32 and from Billericay, and knocked him to the floor. They then got back in the car and drove away.

This is believed to have been an unprovoked attack. The victim was taken to Basildon Hospital for treatment of his injuries. He is now recovering at his home.

The suspects are described as white men in their mid to late 20s. One is described in particular as being over 6ft, of lean build, with cropped dark hair. The other is around 5ft 10ins tall and is of stocky build with brown shaved hair.
