Article by Guy Bell: Barleylands welcomes the young Einsteins of Essex to the farm as they gear up for Mad Science Week.
February half term sees Plasma Penny, Atomic Andie and other presenters from Mad Science take children on a journey through science.
There will be foaming test tubes, fizzing flasks and bubbling beakers aplenty, and farm park manager Dave Finkle cannot wait.

Their shows really are a blast. They have five different ones including the 'Chemistry Show' and 'Great Fire of London', and we'll have four different shows each day.
The weather will play no part and Dave is confident the event will be enjoyable for mums and dads too.

Most of the fun is under cover, so bad weather won't be able to spoil the fun. In our case, keeping families happy this half term is rocket science.
On top of that children can dress as mini professors in the experiment room and put on a lab coat and goggles to join in a colourful hands-on science experiment.
Mad Science Week runs from Monday 16 until Friday, February 20 in the farm park.
Those booking online in advance can save 20 per cent.
Barleylands is located in Billericay and combines an award winning farm park, craft village, bi-monthly farmers' market, Italian cafe and an a la carte restaurant.
