Article by Guy Bell: A building based on a famous French museum Le Louvre could be built in Billericay if plans are given the go-ahead.
Ambitious proposals could create an office block with 160 parking spaces, a children's gym and a café, taking on the aesthetics of the renowned Paris museum.
A three-storey glass structure, measuring 4,000 sq m, would replace the building occupied by the children's gym and wholefoods eatery.
Pea Pods and My Gym, in Radford Way, would remain on the site while spaces would be created for new businesses.
Twelve members of staff work at the existing site, but the new, "more attractive" building will create job opportunities.
A statement in the planning application, submitted by Linda Russell Solicitors, said:

The application site is situated in a highly sustainable location, with easy access to local facilities and the surrounding public transport network. The application site is easily accessible by alternative means of transport. For example, within a short walking distance of the site are a number of bus stops for services that provide direct access to the settlements of Chelmsford, Brentwood, Basildon and the various settlements in between.[/quote]
