Heavy Horse and Driving Show

Article by The Enquirer: The Essex Shire Horse Association will present the annual Essex Heavy Horse and Driving Show next August.

Taking place at Barleylands Farm in Billericay on Sunday, 7 August, there are horses of all sizes, from Shetland ponies to Shires.

There are heavy horse turnout classes include Brewery Drays, Wagons and stunning hackney’s and carriages.

Take a trip back in time to see the magnificent coach and horse teams decked out in period costume at the Coaching Marathon.

Don’t miss the parade of vintage vehicles followed by a parade of heavy horses. Take some time to watch the fun dog show.

The ever popular ridden concours class showcases stunning period costumes and elegant side saddle classes.

Situated around the three arenas at the show you will find a large selection of trade and craft stands with lots of places to eat and drink and of course the beer tent keeps everyone cool in between trade stands.
