Hostess, Sandra Watson, who works at Anisha Grange Care Home, rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission, has been shortlisted in the ‘Care Champion’ category at the esteemed National Care Awards.

The National Care Awards, first established 22 years ago by leading care publication, Caring Times, aims to recognise and celebrate the very best people in the long-term care sector. Sandra said:

“It took quite a while for the enormity of the nomination of ‘Care Champion’ to sink in. it has totally overwhelmed me. It really is the most heart lifting feeling to have so much love and appreciation from residents, their families and team at Anisha Grange for doing a job that gives me the utmost pleasure. I'm so proud to be part of such a great team at Anisha.”

General Manager at Anisha Grange, Lindsay Fourie said:

“Everyone at Anisha Grange Care Home is so proud and delighted for Sandra. She is loved by all residents and team members alike.  This nomination could not have gone to anyone more well-deserved; she is an inspiration and a breath of fresh air to us all.  She always goes above and beyond in her role and the nomination of ‘Care Champion’ is a great honour for all the dedication she gives to the residents. Sandra can often be found helping residents picking up dropped stitches in knitting, dancing with them and singing along to make them feel special every day.”

The winners of the 22nd National Care Awards will be announced at a virtual ceremony on Wednesday 25th November.
