Schoolchildren in Billericay, Essex celebrated Easter by creating decorations for their neighbours at Churchill Retirement Living's Meadow Lodge.

Children from Quilters Infant School visited the Lodge on Friday to deliver Easter decorations and were given a large hamper of Easter eggs in return to enjoy over the holidays.

Maggie Duggan, manager at Meadow Lodge, said: "As Meadow Lodge is just a short distance away from the school, we thought it was a perfect opportunity to invite the pupils to connect with the older generation and celebrate Easter in our community.

"The children said they enjoyed making the decorations and were proud to see them on display. We were very happy to reward them all with some chocolate."

Dawn Coster, Churchill’s regional marketing executive, said:

"We were delighted to be a part of this initiative, helping to connect the generations at this special time of year. We look forward to maintaining our close connection with the school in future."
