The Billericay District Residents Association (BDRA) was established in 1926, and merged in 1962 with the Buttsbury Residents' Association to create its present form.
During the 1970's the Association held all nine Billericay seats on Basildon District Council. The Association has over 6,000 Billericay households in membership, and has a committee structure based on the three electoral wards, with an executive committee.
The Association shall be non-party political and non-sectarian. To represent and protect the interests of residents of Billericay, work to improve the quality of life in Billericay and work for the benefit of the people of Billericay.
The Association produces a regular newsletter, 10 times per year which is distributed to all members featuring local issues, events and news.
